The laboratory has basically built the conditions for multiple researches of various lake sciences. The lab constructed several sub-labs of lake-geochemistry, lake-environmental chemistry, lake-biology and ecology and lake-hydrology and water dynamics, and lake-database and modeling center. The lab is five-floor building, and the total area is 4450 m2 with lab rooms of 2950 m2, official rooms of 1200 m2, and conference and seminar rooms of 300 m2.

Major Equipments and facilities

The laboratory approximately owns 50 large-type instruments and equipments, and the price of each item is over 100.000 Yuan. These instruments and equipments includes multi-functional sampling platform, GPS orientation system, water quality monitoring system, and lake depth measuring system that are used for field investigation, Element Geochemistry, Environmental Magnetism, Granulometry, Isotope Geochemistry, Organic Geochemistry, Atomic Spectrum, Chronology(14C, 210Pb and Cs dating) and Water Chemistry that are applied in experiment and testing, and ecological simulating equipments and SIG working station that are carried on simulation and modeling.
